The owner of Patio Cafe wanted to give a refresh to their restaurant for their 20th anniversary. They wanted a touch of farmhouse while still keeping a more eclectic feel. The patrons were extremely disappointed when they heard the beloved original mural was going to be painted over so we came up with the idea of 'shiplapping' over part of the mural while giving snapshots of the focal points. We replaced the mismatched fans with two large windmill fans. Commercial dimmable bistro lights were strung around the ceiling for an outdoorsy feel. Bar and pub seating was added for a more private space to eat and all of the table tops were updated. To finish off the "patio" feel we added in live plants from Foliage Clovis and a "flower bed" along the mural wall.

When I think of this project, I think of the word "transformative". It was a turning point not only in this home's aesthetic but also in the lives of my clients. Often it is underestimated how much of an impact an environment has on a person. It can create anxiety, uneasiness, and depression. It can also become a retreat and place to calm your heart. This is the transformation this project undertook. From a place my client wanted to run from, to a place my client couldn't wait to come home to. That is always our goal. To create a space our clients never want to leave.

Details: We tackled the entire main living space: entry, living room, dining room, and kitchen (pictured). Later the bathroom and kid's tv room were added. Every square inch was taken by storm in turning this loved house into a beloved home.
